¡Madrid!

Better late to post than never, right?! Here´s a couple photos of my weekend trip to Madrid during the first weekend of this month. I went with some amazing girls from my program and had a fantastic time! Enjoy. :)

A pretty stately Capital, wouldn't you say?

Judy and I inside the Parque de Retiro

Fantastic traveling buddies!

Outside an awesome glass house inside the park.

Visiting the Botanical gardens of Madrid.
¡Me encantan flores!

Cooking dinner at our fabulous hostel. I could write a book on how to travel cheaply
through Europe. ;) Only spent 12 euros on food the WHOLE weekend! Winning!

Visiting the massive cathedral.

Outside the cathedral.

Gloria y yo in front of the royal palace!

Definitely a successful weekend exploring Spain's capital city!

Lessons

Wow! What a week. Thank you for all the prayers for my Grandpa this week, we have definitely felt them and appreciate them so much. If there´s one thing I´ve learned this semester, it´s that we serve an ALMIGHTY, ALL KNOWING, and FAITHFUL God. Praising God for His faithfulness and nearness especially this week. AND, I´m SO excited to be welcoming a new sister into the family this week too! Congrats Sarah and Ryan! :)
2 Lessons I´ve learned this week...
    1. God´s love and faithfulness is really the only constant, never changing rock in my life
    2. I´m gonna think twice before leaving home for 5 months again! ;)
A LOT has happened since January!

~ Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.
                                                                                                                        ~Isaiah 26:3

Semana Santa

¡Hola! I´m back! ;)
Wow. Life has been VERY busy with LOTS of happenings since my last post. Successfully finished all of my midterms, YES! And enjoyed a most WONDERFUL Easter break with Mom, Dad, and hermanito Nelson. Thanks so much for all of your prayers for our family right now, God hears them and is SO faithful.
We had a FANTASTIC Semana Santa (Spanish for Holy Week) traveling all around Spain. I absolutely LOVED being with the family and it was so great to see more of Spain too. I definitely enjoyed showing the family "my" Spain- my home away from home! So while this blog post should have been written well over a week ago, here are the highlights of a FABULOUS week with my fam!

Where to start?!
Madrid- where I met the family Saturday afternoon :) :)
(Hopefully they've forgiven me for dragging them all around the city jet-lagged!)

The Prado Museum, where Nelsers and I got
 "cultured" on famous Spanish  artwork
Fun!
Don't we look happy?!
I was SO excited to see them!

Puerta del Sol

The Royal Palace!
Couldn't help but sing- Living in the Palace while I was there! ;)
Next stop...
Segovia- city of the famous Roman Aqueduct!

There we are in front of the aqueduct!
When did that hermanito of mine get so tall?! Seriously.

Best part about Europe-tiny streets!

The 'rents! :)

Oh, in case you missed it the first time around...
That's the aqueduct!

On to...
Toledo
Breathtaking views!

We LOVED Toledo!
Never fear Toledo, Eisenmanns are in town...

Showed the fam paella, and they like it!

Next, Cordoba :)
We visited the famous Roman bridge!

And saw a Semana Santa procession leaving the cathedral/mosque.

And then Seville
(That makes my 3rd time to Seville for any of you counting!
 And it gets better everytime!)
We visited the cathedral, of course! That´s always the first on my to do list
 in every Spanish city.
And this was our preferred method of looking at all the ceiling artwork. ;D

 On to Plaza de EspaƱa
Hands down my favorite plaza ever!
(Chicago should get one, don´t you think?!)

So apparently Nelsers didn´t know this was a jumping picture...
;D
We saw many Semana Santa processions, a Spanish tradition of parading
floats of all the events of Holy week and  visually portraying Jesus' last days on earth.
Very impressive.
Gilbraltar

Home of the ROCK and some monkies!
1st day, walked up to the top of the rock! The view was totally worth it!

Did some bonding with the natives!
Proof that we did bring along our favorite photographer!

And we saved the best for last...
GRANADA!

 The Alhambra!
View from the Mirador San Nicolas- my favorite spot in Granada. :)
Inside Parque de Carmen de Mentires, but don't worry
we were out by 6pm!! ;)

Touring the Alhambra, little bit raining but it didn't stop us from having fun!

Enjoyed the last day together walking around Granada after my class.

Best 3 parts about this week...
Mom time

Dad time

Nelsers time

:) It was an amazing week filled with wonderful memories I´ll treasure forever! :)
